Brown Spots - Solar Lentigos

Solar lentigos, also called sun spots or age spots, are flat brown patches caused by cumulative sun exposure. They are most common on the face, chest and hands.

Appearance

• Well defined brown patches
• Larger and more persistent than freckles
• Often increase in number with age

Solar lentigos are benign but may resemble early melanoma, so new or changing patches should be assessed.
