Stucco Keratoses
Stucco keratoses are small, white, scaly lesions most often seen on the lower legs and feet. They are benign and related to sun exposure and ageing of the skin.
Typical features
- Small white or grey scaly patches
- More common in older adults
- Usually asymptomatic
- Often appear in clusters
These lesions do not turn into skin cancer. Treatment is optional and focuses on improving texture.
Treatment options
- Gentle exfoliation and moisturisers
- Cryotherapy for thicker lesions
- Keratin softening creams
If you are unsure whether a dry patch represents stucco keratosis or sun damage, please arrange an assessment through the contact page.
